The Purely Blue Coffee story is about striving without compromise to provide the very best experience for guests at Purely Blue. In the quest to find the best Australian coffee available, we travelled to the Atherton Tablelands in far north Queensland. We visited many small and large coffee plantations seeking that elusive quality of the perfect Arabica coffee cherry. Finally, at a large plantation near Mareeba, we found truly excellent coffee cherries. We then organised the first roastings, experimented with degrees of roast and adding flavours and Purely Blue coffee was born, making Purely Blue the first brothel in the world to have its own coffee.

Returning triumphant to Brisbane, we unleashed what we believed to be the best Australian coffee available on our guests. This had a completely unexpected result — our guests began to ask “where can I buy this coffee?” Caught unprepared for the demand, we created distinctive packaging to launch Purely Blue Coffee as a brand with three roasts and two flavours each named after a room at Purely Blue-themed coffee for themed rooms. Two sizes were developed: 70 gram and 150 gram.

A tag-line of ‘The Adult Taste in Coffee’ was created for the new Purely Blue Coffee. The genesis of the tag-line involved the fact that coffee is most appreciated by people who really know and enjoy great coffee. These people have refined tastes which sometimes take years to develop, hence the adult taste. We are proud to promote Purely Blue as the world's first adult taste in coffee.

Following a successful retail launch through non-traditional outlets including bottle shops, the demand for the coffee grew and the Purely Blue Coffee Lover Club was launched. This was followed by nearly a year of experimentation in developing the world's first chilli coffee. We have had tastings at Brisbane's Sexpo exhibition each year since 2003 and have recently added a Purely Blue Coffee delivery van service in the inner North Brisbane suburbs. Guests of Purely Blue are always welcome to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee anytime they visit and are also able to choose from the six varieties of ground coffee to purchase for their enjoyment anywhere.

With increasing demand Purely Blue Coffee has become a trading entity in its own right and is poised to enter new markets as a boutique brand with the goal of sharing our world class coffee with Australians and the rest of the world.
